Washington joins Arizona, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Vermont to become the seventh state to outlaw wildlife killing contests. Maryland Votes For Animals and The Humane Society of the United States will be reintroducing this bill in 2021 banning cruel killing contests where the sole objective is to kill as many animals as possible for cash or prizes. In 2020, this bill passed the Maryland House but was unable to progress due to the abbreviated session.
We look forward to working with our bill sponsors Delegate Dana Stein and Senator Ron Young – and you. Sign up for our Action Alerts so you can let your legislators know that you want these contests to stop in our state. Let’s put an end to these brutal contests in Maryland!
