Thanks to Governor Moore for being a steadfast supporter of animal welfare and signing all five of our bills. Governor Moore reaffirmed his strong commitment to supporting legislation that will benefit Maryland’s animals and residents.

SB 318/HB 643 would expand the eligibility for the Janet L. Hoffman Loan Assistance Repayment Program to include individuals who received a degree from an accredited veterinary school and provided veterinary services for in the State.

SB 635/HB 731 Establishes the Wildlife Connectivity Fund: Lays the groundwork for efforts to design and build wildlife crossings, map habitats, and reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions.

SUPPORT: The Pet Policy Transparency Act! This bill would require the landlord of a residential rental property to provide the property’s pet policy on the property’s website, in digital advertisements,

SB 375/HB 513 protects our communities from the adverse effects of cockfighting and Avian Flu by prohibiting a person who keeps roosters that are maintained individually and kept movement-constrained through use of an enclosure or tether from keeping more than 5 roosters per acre on a single property or more than a total of 25 roosters on a single property.
