Summary:  Allows judges to order, as a condition of sentencing for aggravated animal cruelty, that a convicted animal abuser cannot own animals for any period of time, up to and including life.

Bill: HB 1662No More Puppy and Kitten Mills Act of 2018
Sponsors: Delegate Benjamin Kramer
Summary: Requires the seven pet stores in Maryland that st ill sell cats and dogs to transition to a business model similar to PetSmart or Bark where pet supplies, food, and other animal services are sold in lieu of puppies or kittens.  The 150 stores with this business model can hold adoption events at their stores with local shelters, rescues, or licensed local Maryland breeders.

Summary:  Adds “pigeon” to the defined term “unprotected bird” in Maryland’s wildlife laws with an explicit prohibition on cruel pigeon shoots.
